Your mission

You will be responsible to carry out mounting, blocking and some edging tasks as main activities in this role. You must be autonomous, with team work abilities and good observational and manual skills. You will act as a multitasked technician that must be versatile and can execute all basic activities in an edging and mounting department.


Location: Waterloo, ON

Work schedule: Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Classification: O2


Your main challenges



• Carry out lenses’ edging and assembling the lenses in the frame;

•  Evaluate the best position of the bevel in conformity with the strengths and curvature of the lenses so as to provide an esthetical result which will be a quality reference for the laboratory.



• Carry out the cleaning of the lenses and cosmetic inspection;



• Carry out lenses’ mounting and assembling the lenses in the frame;



• Perform the blocking of lenses with appropriate equipment;

• Carry out the blocking of lenses with automated blocking equipment;



• Perform the reception, sorting, tray up and tray out of the lenses and frames;

• Read a work ticket and prescription of an order and assign to the proper workstation/service;

• Carry out the tracing of the frames;


Your profile  


  • Education: High School diploma, Optician diploma an asset
  • Work Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in an edging & mounting position or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge: Type of lenses, type of bevels, frames
  • Abilities: Precision and exactness when carrying out manual work, Observation skills
  • Linguistic requirement: Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
