Title:  Optical Account Manager

Essilor is seeking a passionate and commercially savvy Account Manager to join the market leading company and sales team within the industry.  We currently have an opportunity to be part of our Essilor team in Victoria, and supporting independent optometry right across the state. 


Our Account Managers are the front-face of our company, and have three main responsibilities: protecting our core business, growing our market share, and hunting out and acquiring new business opportunities. As an Optical Account Manager, you will be working directly with our customers to grow their business and ours, through developing growth strategies for practices, upskilling practice staff on the benefits of our Essilor branded products, and working closely with our Customer Services teams to ensure a high level of service and support to any issues our customers are experiencing.


The role will manage a territory of accounts in Victoria (Melbourne metro and eastern Victoria), and be based in Melbourne. 


To be successful in this role, our new team member will need to have prior experience in Account Manager & Business Development, innate curiosity, and demonstrated relationship management skills. 


Our ideal candidate will also:

  • be confident in analyzing sales data and generating actionable insights, and in the use of a CRM and Microsoft Office suite (such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint);
  • have demonstrated business acumen and negotiation skills;
  • have amazing communication and presentation skills, in both oral and written form;
  • have strong planning and organizing skills, with the flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business and customer requirements;
  • hold a current Drivers License, and have a vehicle;
  • have the ability and flexibility to travel intrastate, with overnight stays as required;
  • Participate in interstate travel for tradeshows, sales conferences etc from time to time.


Candidates with formal qualifications in Optical Dispensing, Optometry or other vision-related disciplines will be highly regarded.
