We currently have a Brand Content & Digital Marketing GM career opportunity at our head office in Tokyo, Japan within our Branding Content & Digital marketing team. You will be in charge of developing, defining and implementing the growth strategy of our iconic brand Nikon on the optical lens and eyewear segments, overseeing all brand’s content and digital marketing initiatives.

As Nikon Lenswear #1 ambassador, you will be the voice of the brand. You will tell Nikon unique story via every available channel with the consumer path in mind, aiming to grow the brand awareness and elevate it to the preferred premium lens brand from a B2C and B2B perspective.

To be successful in this role, you will also have to prove yourself as an inspiring leader for your team (expert profiles : brand content manager, graphic designers, digital managers).

 

Key roles

 

1. Global brand communication strategy and content creation

  • Communication strategy:
    - Design Nikon Lenswear global communication strategy by identifying the strategic brand’s content pillars, overseeing the production and publication of all communication assets

- Attract and retain the brand’s target audience and preferred partners through unique story telling (based on tangible benefits)

  • Content creation and publication:

- Create extraordinary, entertaining content to delight our consumers across all communications channels such as websites, blogs, social networks, newsletters, press release, etc.

- Manage content creation through two ways of working: coordinating content creation by agencies and developing content in-house with our graphic designers’ team.

- Multi-level content creation: overarching brand content reflecting in-depth understanding of brand values and aspirations, as well as brand activity-based tactical content (innovations, promotions)

- Support and follow-up of key markets worldwide in their content development while ensuring the consistency of the defined strategy.

  • Coordinate countries media planning activities to develop Nikon Lenswear media presence in a consistent way
  • Create and implement branding guidelines in line with Nikon’s umbrella brand and core values
  • Responsible for the tone of voice in all our communication – everything has to sound like Nikon
  • Foster relationships with influencers and key opinion leaders, in line with Nikon positioning and values

 

        2. Global digital strategy

  • Design Nikon Lenswear global digital marketing strategy and related campaigns
  • Create guidelines for the implementation of global digital marketing initiatives across all markets
  • Manage the global Nikon Lenswear global website and its declinations in markets
  • Coordinate the launch of new Nikon social media platforms in agreement with Nikon Corporation
  • Protect and monitor Nikon digital footprint, ensuring brand guidelines are respected
  • Responsible for tracking Nikon digital performance and providing insight into analytics

 

        3. Japan Marketing media plan & digital campaigns

  • Together with the Japan marketing team, define the media plan and related communication activities for the Japanese market, with a strong focus on digital
  • Take the lead on all digital initiatives for Japanese customers: B2B portal, ready to use content toolkits

 

        4. Community management

  • Externally: develop a community of Nikon Lenswear fans and oversee its management
  • Internally: Monthly brand community animation with local marketing teams to ensure cross-fertilizing

 

Qualifications

  • Education in management, marketing/web marketing, communication, or journalism
  • 10-15 years experience in brand management, communication, advertising or media, with a strong focus on digital marketing
  • Professional written and oral communication skills in English
  • Experience working with creative & digital agencies
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Inspiring and recognized leader who knows how to motivates his/her team, get the best out of them and make them grow professionally
  • First understanding of the Japanese culture and willingness to learn the language would be a great add on
