POSITION OF THE JOB IN THE ORGANISATION

MISSION - PURPOSE OF THE JOB

FGXE Ltd are seeking a full-time, permanent Management Accountant. The Management Accountant will have overarching responsibility for the production of the Foster Grant monthly management accounts, with a bias towards the Cost of Goods sold for both the Foster Grant and Fabris Lane brands. The Fabris Lane equivalent will have a bias towards Gross Sales and gross to net adjustments.

 

REPORTING LINE

Financial Controller, with overall reporting line into the Finance Director

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the margin analysis by month and quarter (COGS report). Investigate variances to budget and forecast. Be able to effectively explain any differences or correct. Then work with the business function to reduce ongoing or potential variances to plan.
  • Calculation of quarterly stock obsolescence provision. Work with the commercial and supply chain functions.
  • Review and reconcile the GRNI and FDI (freight duty and insurance) provisions
  • Stock valuation at period end and year end.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for FGX and selective stock related codes in Fabris Lane.
  • MCD Invoicing (Polish distributor)
  • Dealing with Intrastat and EC Sales (while applicable)
  • VAT submission for UK division, potentially for central Europe.
  • Depreciation (Stands in Stock)
  • Maintain and develop the Fixed Asset register.
  • Accruals and prepayments.
  • Gross sales accruals at period end / year end for PFS accounts.
  • COG's accruals related to gross sales adjustments (noted above) and generic updates 
  • Intercompany reconciliation's
  • Royalty calculation
  • Licensed Inventory
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs
  • Statutory Reporting
  • Taxation pack completion
  • IFRS 16 journals and IFRS 9 updates
  • Foreign exchange reporting and reconciliation
  • Leased Assets
  • Miscellaneous stock reallocation

 

LOCATION

  • Stoke-on-Trent

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE

 

Required :

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Good understanding of inventory (both in the warehouse & finance)
  • Experience of aging and valuing potentially obsolete stock 

 

Desired :

  • Experience of using Movex or M3
  • Worked with business managers to identify inventory issues then mitigating the financial impact on the business
  • Been involved in a physical stock take or potentially managed the process
  • Understand cycle counting (PI) and being able to work with warehouse to develop

 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fully qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA
