JOB TITLE

Staff Accountant

 

MISSION - PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As a Staff Accountant you are responsible for maintaining and supporting financial information surrounding our growing Scan-Based Trading business model and preparing and maintaining analysis of monthly financial statements pertaining to gross profit. The purpose of this position is to understand current business trends and communicate action-items to management. Additionally, this position participates in the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting as it relates to cost of goods sold.

 

POSITION OF THE JOB IN THE ORGANIZATION

Department: Finance

Reporting to: Finance Manager, Cost Accounting

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day to day maintenance and reconciliation of Scan-Based Trading customer inventory including but not limited to: review of shrink and/or damage risk, return provision accruals and inventory adjustments, and PFS reasonability test
  • Work with large volumes of data to understand and interpret current business trends in order to communicate to management so that the proper corrective actions may be taken
  • Perform business analytics to include: Customer Gross Margin, Labor, Material Usage, Purchase Price Variances and Inventory Obsolescence
  • Work with Commercial and Finance teams to effectively build Annual COGS and other COGS operating plans and maintain rolling forecasts
  • Month end accounting duties including: Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and monthly journal entries while providing analysis on key
  • Participate in various Ad-hoc projects supporting other functional business units

LOCATION

Smithfield, Rhode Island

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE

  • Fluent English (both spoken and written), other language is a plus
  • Bachelor degree holder (Accounting concentration)
  • 2-5 years’ experience in an accounting position/department
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Autonomous, with strong ability to work effectively in multi-cultural, geographically dispersed, virtual teams.
  • Influencing skills and project management experience in a matrix and complex organization, covering multi-region scope
  • Strong leadership and excellent communication skills
