Report to Rx Continuous Improvement Manager, the Continuous Improvement Engineer’s main mission is the lead the Continuous Improvement in the plant according to the Operations Excellence model and ensure the sustainability of solutions implemented. Propose improvement action plans for the plant and develop Continuous Improvement skills on site. Versatile and utilize lean enterprise skillset of continuous improvement team to add value to the business. Incorporate lean thinking, automation, and digitalization into the design and development phase of new products & processes to prevent non-value-added impacts on manufacturing. She/he will work closely with the Rx production and engineering people to ensure all improvement initiatives are well synchronized with the production environment. She/he will comply with the EHS and HR policies.

 

My day at EssilorLuxottica

  • Layout and workflow design integrating the lean concept and automation, digitalization aims to get the best flow with the shortest production lead time.
  • Responsible for the new machines and equipment installation at the right position following the master layout design for the new plant start-up and the ramp-up periods. Including the re-layout when needed.
  • Establish the standard operation procedure (SOP) by co-working with Production and Engineering teams and ensure the SOP is up to date when the process/product/flow is changed.
  • Lead the improvement projects which are linked to production lead time, productivity, cost reduction, etc.
  • Master all flows in production to see the possibilities to integrate Robotics, Automation, Digitalization, and Smart conveyor system into the current workshops.
  • Specify the needs related to production constraints and deal with concerned parties and suppliers to make the efficient flow with smooth integration.
  • Understand the impact of new automatic/digitalization solutions related to the constraints in the production and supply chain areas, and propose the most beneficial solution.
  • Responsible for the production capacity of the entire Rx lab.
  • Responsible for smart launching in the entire workflow to make sure the order is correctly placed in the correct flows and workshops.
  • Animate the Kaizen workshop to seek constant improvement by working closely with the production and other teams that are associated with the topic.
  • Lead the periodical end-to-end VSM, and VA/NVA analysis and propose opportunities for improvement.
  • Benchmark the continuous improvement practices with the other entities group and identify/put in place the best practices.
  • Comply with the local and group policy
  • Comply with the ISO certifications and other group systems

 

Must have

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment from a multinational company.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering, science or a related field.
  • Strong in lean manufacturing skillset, automation, digitalization.
  • KPI driven with a structured problem-solving and logical thinking approaches.
  • Solid knowledge of AUTOCAD and MS tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Good Interpersonal Skills with the right communication level including good English (both written and spoken).
  • Customer oriented with flexibility & adaptability to the uncertainty of the daily manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible and able to work through ambiguities.
