Title:  District Sales Manager (NY/PA)



The District Sales Manager is directly responsible for the leadership, management and profitability of an assigned sales district within the Essilor group. Consistently achieves established district sales goals through the direction, organization, coordination, and development of Territory Sales Consultants.  Effectively acts as a mentor and coach to the Account Executives.  Coordinates with lab management and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.  Ensures district sales consultants are equipped to be successful through training, communication of national and regional programs, and usage of provided sales tools. Ideal living location: Near a major airport within the district. Travel up to 50%.



  • Achieves district revenue and key products' sales forecast.
  • Develops the individual and team objectives based on the business plans of ELOA.
  • Has a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the district.
  • Ensures Sales Consultants are performing necessary territory and account planning activities to achieve district sales goals.  Coaches, develops and provides sales support to Territory Sales Consultants.
  • Leads by example in demonstrating high levels of customer service through direct district customer involvement.  Focuses Sales Consultants on monitoring changes in the market and customer base.  Represents the District at key customer events and builds customer loyalty
  • Coordinates with Regional Director on developing and monitoring the District & Territory sales budgets.
  • Provides district reports through a thorough knowledge of Essbase and data analysis.
  • Responsible for growing and developing his/her team in his/her business unit through effective communication the PPR process, ride-withs and individual one-on-one coaching.
  • Provides continuous feedback on Sales Consultant performance
  • Assists the Sales Consultants with building key accounts business plans.
  • Coaches the Sales Consultants on the Apex selling process and ensures that they use the process to achieve district sales goals.
  • Collaborates, develops and implements plans to effectively leverage all lab distribution channels to ensure business objectives are accomplished.
  • Meets with key Lab Channel constituents to develop and maintain a high level of communication and teamwork within the District and the Region.
  • Effectively communicates, supervises and implements all Essilor Sales, Premium Product and Channel Marketing Plans and objectives.
  • Successfully recruits, hires, train and develop the best talent for the field Brand Sales Consultant position.
  • Assists the Region Director in developing Region level execution plans that includes a roll up from the District level.
  • Completes reports and other administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Always represents the company in line with stated core values.
  • Creates a safe work environment through awareness and adherence to proper safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Region Director and/or VP of Brand Sales.




  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 3 years of successful sales experience required.  Outside selling preferred.
  • Demonstrated results in managing sales people strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership, management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, general pc navigation, contact management system and sales analytical tools).
  • Optical sales experience preferred
