Transitions Optical Sales Analyst

Position Overview

Sales analysts will help the North America Commercial team optimize promotional and operational efforts through the analysis and prediction of sales trends and markets to develop strategies that improve sales productivity for the organization This is a data-driven role that requires a balance of market analysis, budget management, and industry expertise You will assess data such as customer metrics, competitor information, and sales channels to provide options for the best methods of increasing both revenue and market share. You will work closely with and may provide advice to sales teams, marketing and executives to develop sales targets, assess strategies to boost revenue, and develop promotional campaigns and budgets. Day-to-day, the sales analyst assesses company and client needs, receives robust information, and analyzes it, looking for telltale trends or areas for improvement. You will gather, interpret and use complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results. This involves collecting and examining data and using the information gathered to create coherent, intelligent reports, then presenting reports to your team and to management. You will create both standardized & custom reports, reviewing current customers, analyzing market trends, running the numbers, and creating detailed reports.


Key Responsibilities


  • Analyze Sales Data
    Examine monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports to identify sales patterns and areas for improvement, comparing actual sales data to revenue projections and expectations. Assess market data, including competitors, to identify areas where the company can increase its efforts and analyse in order to understand problems and address them proactively.
  • Develop Projections and Forecasts
    Develop reports showing expected sales and the potential effects of new strategies to aid in decision-making.  Work closely with marketing, sales, and management to develop forecasts and examine the potential revenue effects of various proposals. Development of key performance indictors will be critical to enhance the understanding business and to improve decision making.
  • Guide Marketing Efforts
    Using the data and research, may identify markets to target with advertising and promotional efforts or determine how to best set the company apart from its competitors. Collaborating with marketing teams is frequently a key component of opening up new markets for growth.
  • Examine Budgets
    Examine projected cash flow and compare it to actual sales results to identify areas that are not hitting sales goals. May also provide advice on future budget development.
  • Communicate & Present Reports to Team & Leadership
    Collaborate with team. Regularly prepare reports and presentations for company leaders. These reports can include data on market performance, competitor research, and general sales trends. May also provide recommendations and actionable information to increase revenue, eliminating weaknesses within the company’s sales ecosystem, meeting sales goals, and improving marketing and promotional efforts.   


Key Requirements- Education & Experience

  • BS accounting, marketing or finance
  • 4+ years directly related experience.  Working for an eye care company or related industry experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent time management, ability to plan ahead, handle multiple projects, set priorities and drive results

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRM such as Salesforce
  • Could travel 5% or less.

Position is in facility - currently hybrid of home office & facility.
