P2P Procurement Specialist

 

Job Purpose

As part of Transitions Optical Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) your primary role is to take responsibility and manage the Procurement Function within Transitions. You will be working with S&P professionals in the Transitions and EssilorLuxottica organizations as well as being part of multi-disciplinary teams within the Transitions organization. In this position, you will perform a variety of procurement activities in accordance with group principles and standards. In addition, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for the implementation of a new SAP ERP system, and provide advice and support within area of expertise to functional or operational areas to help develop efficient and streamlined P2P (Procure-2-Pay) processes within the company.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

This role works through influence vs direct line authority (since most P2P processes cut across multiple functions). Responsibilities include:

Providing procurement support across the end to end P2P process:

  • Ensure purchase requisitions, approvals and purchase orders are generated in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with the functions (Marketing, HR, IT, etc) in the sourcing of potential suppliers through the proactive enforcement of the bidding process, implementation of global supplier agreements, and supplier negotiations.
  • Coordinate management of procurement files.
  • Ensure the P2P process operates to targeted design and performance
  • Drive problem identification and resolution to process issues
  • Take strategic direction/initiatives from the business and translate them into specific actions for the P2P process
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier

 

Preparing Transitions Optical for deployment of the P2P process into the new SAP ERP system:

  • Play an active role in the “Fit and Gap” exercise between the existing ERP and new SAP system
  • Help develop solutions to resolve identified gap in the proposed P2P processes
  • Help develop the necessary P2P process/systems training for the new SAP system
  • Work with Shared Services to ensure a smooth transfer of purchasing transactions to new SAP platform
  • Work with suppliers on changes that will impact them

 

Key Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement position in addition to either a certification in Purchasing (CPM or CPIM) or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of the scope and activities in the P2P process
  • Proven track record of solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking.
  • Strong influencing skills; able to leverage indirect authority when needed
  • SAP ERP experience
  • Collaborative and team focused; understands the need to build and develop teamwork 

Additional:

  • Comfortable working at the top level of the organization as well as sitting down with front line employees to understand their work and issues
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media
  • Some flexibility with work schedule may be  required
