TRANSITIONS OPTICAL - Associate Marketing Manager – Trade Communications

TRANSITIONS OPTICAL  Associate Marketing Manager – Trade Communications is responsible for supporting the development, management and execution of trade marketing programs that align with the North America marketing strategy and sales objectives.  This position allows the flexibility and autonomy to apply creative thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to propose unique and innovative strategies for reaching trade professionals. 

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Actively developing and executing trade marketing communications plans to meet product strategies and sales objectives
  • Supporting the development and execution of trade earned and owned media including optical trade public relations (PR), social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), professional trade portal, digital marketing initiatives and email communication
  • Managing trade multicultural programs to drive trade PR, eyecare professional (ECP) advocacy and recommendation for Transitions® Light Intelligent Lenses™ to multicultural patients
  • Supporting trade show presence and trade PR at key national optical trade show events, including booth staffing, content development, collateral materials production, promotions, tracking and collaboration with key partners
  • Developing point-of-sale (POS) materials that align with the consumer campaign and managing the printing, storage and distribution as well as allocations to key partners
  • Supporting the Transitions Academy industry education event with planning team participation, pre-and post-event
  • Working with eye care professional key opinion leaders to develop advocacy for the Transitions® brand and products, through activations at trade events, on influencer blogs and social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat)
  • Maintaining and engaging professional speakers for key industry events and facilitate continuing education credits for occasional industry educational seminars
  • Managing overall trade marketing budget, including forecasting and accruals
  • Maintaining associated project budgets including estimates and monthly reconciliation
  • Developing project briefs, timelines, processes, and materials necessary to ensure successful and timely implementation of all programs
  • Understanding and leveraging key market trends, professional insights and sales data to identify key opportunities and establishing marketing strategies to address those opportunities
  • Aligning and developing synergies with retail, managed care, lens manufacturing, and strategic accounts, as well as other marketing functions
  • Ensuring integration of key consumer advertising and PR into trade advertising and PR wherever possible
  • Measuring and reporting / communicating results of programs to marketing and sales departments and senior leadership
  • Working with marketing agencies and outside vendors to manage projects and ensuring delivery of materials that are fitting with Transitions® brand and image standards, and achieve expected results


Key Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • BS in marketing, communications or related field
  • 4+ years directly related marketing or communications experience
  • Experience with marketing strategies, positioning and PR 
  • Experience with multicultural marketing a plus
  • Optical industry experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics, analytics and the ability to provide recommendations based on performance
  • Results driven and exercise a high degree of ownership and initiative
  • Must be willing to participate in a variety of roles to achieve the sales/marketing goals of the Transitions Optical organization
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong project management skills
  • Be financially astute, aware of budgets while attaining excellent margin results against plan
  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to plan ahead, handle multiple projects, set priorities and drive results
  • Demonstrate creative and innovative thinking
