TRANSITIONS OPTICAL - Associate Marketing Manger - Retail / Strategic Accounts


The TRANSITIONS OPTICAL Associate Marketing Manager – Retail / Strategic Accounts is responsible for the development, management and execution of marketing programs that align the brand communication strategy with the North America key accounts as it relates to retail, managed vision care, buying groups and key laboratories strategies.  This position allows the flexibility and autonomy to apply creative thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to directly influence the leadership team. 


Key Responsibilities of the Role


  • To actively develop and implement key accounts marketing strategies that align with major national retail,  managed vision care and buying group partners in the US and Canada to build Transitions® lenses business within their distribution channels
  • Internally communicate and champion clear messaging, strategy and processes of strategic accounts to the North America marketing team
  • To align with the Marketing Manager – Consumer Communications on advertising, PR, influencers and social media, and create proposals and programs that leverage this content to support key account managers in the development of presentations, meetings, education events and trade shows; and implement programs leveraging the Transitions brands with their accounts
  • Develop project briefs, timelines, processes, and materials necessary to support the programs for retail and strategic account partners
  • Develop the marketing tools to meet the strategic objectives of the channel
  • Align and develop synergies with consumer, lens manufacturing, and trade channels and programs
  • Measure and report / communicate results of programs to marketing and sales departments
  • Working with agencies and outside vendors to manage projects and ensure delivery of materials that are fitting with TOI’s image and branding, and achieve expected results


Key Requirements (Education and Experience) & Skills


  • BS in marketing or related field
  • 4+ years directly related marketing experience.  Eye care company or related industry experience preferred
  • Key account marketing experience, providing marketing programs for key accounts, retail experience preferred 
  • Brand/category management experience working on major brands with significant A&P budgets
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills 
  • Results driven and exercise a high degree of ownership and initiative
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally represent the Transitions® lenses image to customers and suppliers, and demonstrate the ability to act independently
  • Ability to influence change within the organization
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be financially astute, aware of budgets while attaining excellent margin results against Plan.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to plan ahead, handle multiple projects, set priorities and drive results
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time, including some overnights and weekends



Good knowledge of contact management software preferred
