Title:  Business Development Executive

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to lead the development of the business for lens plus instrument at the state of Pahang & Sarawak. The Business Development Executive will be started home base to further expand the business opportunity for Essilor Malaysia. Overall, the key objective for the 2-home base sales agent is to become the pioneer and initial platform for Essilor Malaysia to step into the Pahang & Sarawak state.



Job Responsibilities:

  • To become the 1st pioneer & supplier that setup a centre point (home base) to give assurance and confident toward the ECP in the targeted state.
  • To identify and build up the white space accounts for Malaysia 2 biggest states (East Malaysia: Sarawak & Peninsular Malaysia: Pahang).
  • To seek new opportunity by opening unexplored accounts in Sarawak & Pahang.
  • Taking the lead of direct frequent visit on the current ECP in Sarawak & Pahang in order to replace for the current visit practice that only cover 1 week per month.
  • To improve and capture more Essilor share of wallet in Sarawak & Pahang which Essilor Malaysia & Partner having lowest market penetration.
  • To develop the potential of business line not only lenses but instrument opportunity as well under the lens & instrument bundle deal.



Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Diploma in optician, degree in optometry, pharmaceutical medical devices, or business - Experience in optical sales background or business development or key accounts management is highly advantageous.
  • Big Picture Thinking - Understands Essilor’s vision, aims and objectives and own role within it; thinks broadly, is commercial in their approach and is digitally savvy/utilizes technology to achieve efficiencies and improvements.
  • Analysis and Decision Making - results focused and assimilates information effectively in order to make informed decisions quickly; adopts a risk management approach to problems.
  • Influencing Skills - Excellent teamwork skills, proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Internal & external stakeholder management experience is needed.
  • Communication Skills - Verbal and written communication is clear and effective; listens and learns from others; shares information, knowledge and experience with the team. Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner.
  • At ease with technical topics (scientific background or previous experience in medical devices / technical fields).High degree of flexibility and ability to quickly understand new topics in business, product and marketing.
  • Travel - Open for interstate travel.
