Title:  Operational Excellence Partner

Essilor of America, Inc. (Essilor), is the leading manufacturer and wholesaler of prescription lenses in the United States. We currently have a Operational Excellence Partner career opportunity located within the following work locations:  New York, NY; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; Edison, NJ.

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Operational Excellence Partner’s role will be to partner with the ROD’s and GM’s to develop,
lead and execute the continuous improvement process in labs by using Lean and Six sigma
methodologies. This partnership will consist of providing technical support, training resources
and Lean principles guidance either directly or by coordinating other resources to provide the
support.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Continuous Improvement

  • Perform assessments of the Labs lean culture and methods in use
  • Analyze data and trends to determine what areas of the labs need improvement
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the continuous improvement programs
  • Manage time and prioritize individual projects to align with ELOA priorities

II. Training/Coaching

  • Coach and counsel Lab Management and staff in the use of the lean and six sigma tools

           to develop a continuous improvement culture

  • Recommend continuous improvement projects and improvements
  • Leverage best practices across the lab network
  • Utilize and build cross-functional teams as well as internal or external consultants to

           achieve the business and Continuous Improvement goals

  •  Create blueprints with Lab management to guide them through successful

             implementation of the Continuous Improvement plans

  • Assist the Labs with developing Standard Work and SOP’s

III. Technical Service

  • Tracers – Understand operation, Calibration
  • Blocking - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Edging - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Mounting – Knowledgeable in mounting Techniques, proper handling of lenses
  • Final Inspection – Lensometer Knowledge, Auto-lensometer, able to perform final

           inspection for any job.

  • Breakage Analysis – Perform breakage analysis in all production departments and front

           office.

  • LMS – Well versed in breakage analysis, reports and troubleshooting
  • Quality Audits – Able to conduct quality audits on equipment and process
  • Taper - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Traditional Generator - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Traditional Polishers - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Digital Generators - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Digital Polishers - Understand operation, Calibration
  • Laser – Understands basic operation
  • AR Coating - Understands basic operation

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS or equivalent 4 year degree.
Six Sigma Green belt certification
Proven analysis and presentation skills, using power point, excel etc
Proven leadership skills and experience leading cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the company
Self-motivated, highly organized with demonstrated ability to work multiple projects concurrently
Experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
1-2 years’ experience in developing, organizing, implementing, and managing projects and assignments
