Title:  Continuous Improvement Supervisor

Essilor of America, Inc. (Essilor), is the leading manufacturer and wholesaler of prescription lenses in the United States. We currently have a Continuous Improvement Supervisor career opportunity at our Lewisville, TX location.



Lead the Lean Sigma initiative in Essilor Industries.  Responsible for establishing and meeting objectives in terms of customer satisfaction, finance, quality, productivity and safety 




  1. Manage projects for Lean Sigma Distribution (productivity improvement, preventive maintenance, safety, kaizen events, waste reduction, yield improvement, cycle times, rework, etc.).
  • Analyze candidate projects and evaluate the potential financial benefits with the General Manager.
  • Rank projects for prioritization for Steering Committee approval.
  • Issue monthly report on the financial progress of the Lean Sigma projects and present status report in person at designated locations as determined by Essilor Industries.
  • Responsible for planning and implementing of the initiative’s deployment within Essilor and instructing various members of the organizations on the scope of the project.


2.  Ensures that the defined methodology is followed using the standardized reporting for benchmarking, communication, and project management.


3.  Responsible to maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction by:

  • Measuring service rate and not compliance
  • Keeping tracking of the corrective actions
  • Answering to customer requests




Distribution Managers, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Managers, Engineers, Customer Service, Black Belts within the Zone as well as outside consultants.




  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, or Distribution Management field required.  Certified Black Belt with history of proven results. Strong communication and presentation skills.  Ability to foster cross-team learning and team building skills.  Distribution experience preferred.
  • Basic statistical knowledge, organizational knowledge and communications.  Possess process/product knowledge, basic statistical knowledge, organization knowledge, and communications skills.  Perform work of analytical, detailed, and logical nature.  Project management skills are required.  Basic computer skills using Microsoft software necessary.  Have a detailed understanding of customer requirements and understand basic business practices.
  • Additional qualifications that are desired in a candidate and will be important in making the final candidate selection: background in engineered standards, familiarity with WM systems such as Manhattan or Red Prairie.  Demonstrate high energy and trustworthiness and be goal oriented.
