Title:  Associate Marketing Research Manager

Essilor of America, Inc. (Essilor), is the leading manufacturer and wholesaler of prescription lenses in the United States. We currently have a Associate Marketing Research Manager career opportunity at our Dallas, Texas location.

 

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

Conduct in-depth primary marketing research using both quantitative and qualitative techniques to provide business intelligence such as market assessment, new business development and corporate strategy planning to EOA Marketing. The manager will interface with internal and external partners to support both direct and indirect marketing research efforts. The manager will be expected to deliver regular communications and/or briefings in support of strategic efforts. This person will also build relationship with the marketing team at Essilor International on global research projects impacting the US market.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manages marketing research projects from start to finish including problem definition, development of an approach to the problem, research design formulation, questionnaire design, sampling design and procedures, data collection, data preparation and analysis, report preparation and presentation.

 

  • Supports and works with cross-functional teams to creatively solve business problems including but not limited to brand equity, customer acquisition, customer retention, customer loyalty, creative and media planning, ad tracking preformance, promotion effectiveness, positioning, concept testing, market sizing, new opportunity identification, competitive intelligence, price elasticity, cannibalization, naming strategy and communication strategy among eyecare professionals, consumers and vison insurance companies.

 

  • Provides recommendations and guidance to internal clients within Marketing as well to senior management based on the research findings.

 

  • Works with external marketing research vendors to request for proposals, identify and design appropriate research in a cost-efficient and result-oriented manner.

 

  • Performs advertising copy testing to measure and evaluate campaign’s reach and persuasion potential for its successful launch.

 

  • Conducts advertising research to measure the breakthrough and effectiveness of creative and media touch points on key brand metrics such as brand awareness, product usage, ad awareness, ad recall, intent to ask, purchase intent, etc. which impact media selection and planning strategy of Essilor's advertising campaigns.

 

  • Tests product and idea concepts to understand the appeal among eyecare professionals and consumers.

 

  • Engages in Essilor's pricing initiatives using discrete choice modeling to support new product launch and product pricing strategy and identify cannibalization.

 

  • Tracks product performanmce and brand images to identify drivers of brand usage among eyecare professionals, understand importance of attributes at both category and brand level and determine brand share.

 

  • Performs complex statistical analysis with advanced knowledge of marketing research, e.g. correlation analyses, regression analyses, chi-square analyses, analysis of variance (ANOVA), discriminant and logit anaylyses, factor analyses, cluster analyses, multidimensional scaling and conjoint analyses using statistical/analytical software (e.g. SPSS or SAS).

 

  • Prepares timely, accurate and comprehensive research reports and analyzes and verifies the accuracy and techniques used in reports prepared by external vendors.

 

  • Presents study results and solid business recommendations to appropriate Essilor personnel including management.

 

  • Manages departmental budget and financial statements and actively involves in budget plannig and forecasting meetings.

 

  • Performs all of the above with a high level of confidentiality, experience, professionalism, detail orientation, throughness and accuracy.

 

  • Assists supervisor on other assigned duties, as needed.

 

  • Works with minimal supervision.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing Research combined with 2-5 years of experience in Marketing Research and/or data analysis or Bachelor's degree comgined with 5-8 years.

 

  • Strong knowledge and experience with marketing research methodologies including qualitative and quantitaive methods of analyses.

 

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

 

  • High level of detail orientation and accuracy. Ability to foster high level of confidence and reliability in thought processes and results.

 

  •  Proficient with web-based survey tools to conduct survey research, evaluations and other data collection activities (e.g. Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey)

 

  • Advanced PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, internet and internal software.

 

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.

 

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects against assigned deadlines.

 

  • Comfortable and efficient working in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Ability to work with all levels of management.

 

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team oriented environment with minimal supervision.
