Title:  Operations Data Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

In this position the candidate will be expected to manage a team of 3 individuals in the analysis and interpretation of large datasets pulled from various sources to provide informational and statistical analysis.  The ideal candidate will have experience gathering business requirements, utilizing reporting tools, and in depth understanding of SQL queries running against relational databases. Will be responsible for managing and assisting in the development, production, and monitoring of predictive analytical reports used to drive value for the enterprise. Be expected to support project teams in value added activities that generate practical solutions to complex business problems, explore new business alternatives, and drives improvement in business decisions through product and data knowledge. 

 

GENERAL DUTIES:

 

Work as part of a team responsible for systems support and improvements that will increase profitability, efficiency and flexibility of the ELOA lab network. Work within the Systems Improvement Team to create an environment of trust where systems developments and enhancements are adopted and integrated into current working practices, and where systems and technologies are fully utilized.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

 

  1. Operational Reporting

 

  • Gather reporting requirements from business users.
  • Mange the creation of reports and working with business users to review and finalize designs.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager to support all aspects of reporting.
  • Oversee the design and development of stored procedures, views, functions, tables, etc.; ensure their stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers on understanding database design, query tuning, and schema refinement.
  • Participate in team activities - project planning, project execution, report maintenance and support, etc.

 

  1. Continuous Improvement

 

  • Ensure a well maintained and robust environment that meets current and future business needs by identifying areas of opportunity for Continuous Improvement.
  • Define and capture the metrics to measure the impact and success of these improvements.

 

  1. Project Support

.

  • Gather user requirements needed for new data/report evaluation.
  • Participate in the definition, evaluation, development, and deployment of new reports & reporting solutions.
  • Process mapping to identify potential impact and risk areas.
  • Responsible for accuracy and integrity of SQL environment.
  • Provide standardization and knowledge transfer to the junior analysts. 
  • Will work in unison with the Senior Manager to capture and prioritize all requirements for current and future reporting needs.
  • Will work in unison with IT to review report scheduling and ensure SQL environments are stable.
  • Will have knowledge of Command Center functionality to cover for the Senior Manager during critical times and seasonal vacation periods.

QUALIFICATIONS:          

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Information Systems
  2. At least 6 years of complex SQL query experience (Stored procedures, functions, inner/outer joins, etc.)
  3. Deep Expertise in Microsoft Excel (Lookups, Tables, Pivot Tables, Graphing, etc.)
  4. Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Familiar with Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, and Salesforce
  6. Solid data mining skills.
  7. Dedication to improving the performance of EOA Labs through effective information delivery.
  8. Business Intelligence experience in data collection, management, and metrics.
  9. Outstanding verbal, written, and communication skills in both business and IT environments
  10. Knowledge of the Lens Rx business a plus.
