POSITION PURPOSE:

 

The Financial Analyst II will perform BA functions in support of the Prescription Safety Eyewear division and interface with Finance, Sales Operations, Pricing and other Shared Service teams to develop reporting and analysis for customer related financial data.  Analyst will oversee financial accounting and customer membership rebate agreement and develop, maintain and enhance reporting on customers and customer groups.  Analyst will support Finance, Accounting and Essilor Alliance teams to drive strategy and performance through key performance metrics and indicators.

 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Business Analyst, Essilor Prescription Safety Eyewear

 

Working with Business Unit leaders in Essilor’s Prescription Safety Eyewear division, oversee all Month End Finance Close functions, develop and maintain monthly reporting packages, and assist with Ad Hoc requests from BU Leaders to drive strategy and analytics.

 

Month end close – The Financial Analyst will ensure accuracy and provide financial schedules required to Executive Management for Day 5 Review and help identify where efficiencies can be established.  This includes:

 

 

  • P&L                                                   
  • Customer analysis
  • Business Unit Reporting
  • Opex monitoring
  • Balance Sheet analysis

 

 

Monthly reporting – The Financial Analyst will develop management reports for their business unit(s) Executive Management Team to use as a tool to monitor and control their profitability.

 

  • Develop and maintain for each business unit a comprehensive and summarized reporting package to monitor the performance each month in all critical areas – sales, gross margin, and expenses
  • Develop and monitor customer profitability models
  • Create variance analyses compared to forecast, budget, and history to identify threats and opportunities.
  • Develop a business partner relationship with their business unit Management Team by providing them with the means to understand their sales, margin, and expenses

 

Budget and Forecasting – The Financial Analyst will assist the business unit Management Team and the Finance Team to produce an annual budget and monthly forecast for their business units.

 

  • Produce annual budget with input from top management and operations.
  • Produce forecast in conjunction with the EOA annual forecast process

 

Essilor Alliances & Buying Groups Support – The Financial Analyst II will assist the Finance team to develop and maintain reporting on Dr. Alliances and Buying Groups, maintain financial accounting of rebates, and assist with rebate process

 

  • Develop and process monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for all affiliated customer groups
  • Oversee Sales Reporting for various Customer Membership groups, Monthly Accounting Accruals and reconciliations
  • Lead process efficiency efforts to streamline rebate payments, achieve alignment across business units
  • Assist in development of customer group P&L statements to deliver insights to maximize organizational profitability
  • Assist in customer mapping initiatives and development of customer hierarchy projects.  Help maintain accurate mapping across data systems working closely with Sales Operations, Data Governance, and Data Management teams

 

Strategic Alliance Program Support – The Financial Analyst II will assist the Finance team with the day to day management and maintenance of the Strategic Alliance program, offering back end support on

 

  • Develop and enhance reporting and analytic tools to assist Strategic Alliance Program
  • Enhance Pro Formas and other Financial Models used to evaluate profitability on specific agreements
  • Assist in tasks related to SA Program, including accounting entries, database maintenance, monthly reporting maintenance
  • Work with Pricing, Legal, Accounting and Treasury to ensure accurate record keeping and program reporting

 

Special Projects – The Financial Analyst II will support the Manager of Financial Analysis on special projects for sales and profit improvement and systems enhancement.

 

  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiencies and increase profitability throughout the organization.  Identify and initiate projects to achieve these improvements within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Work on any assigned projects or ad hoc reporting requests to produce timely, accurate, and actionable results.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High energy, self-motivated, eager to learn and grow
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent functional skills in business reporting software– spreadsheet, database, word processing
  • A team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the finance department
  • Experience with Visual Analytics programs (SAS, Qlik, Tableau) desired
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles
  • Bachelor of Business Administration – preferably a major in Finance
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in financial analysis or marketing
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation
  • Oracle Business Intelligence a plus
  • Optical industry experience is a plus
  • Willing to travel and work overtime when necessary
