We currently have a Data Analyst career opportunity at our Dallas, TX location.
 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a hands-on Data Analyst to apply mathematics, statistical analysis, prediction and other data disciplines and technologies, to aid us in forecasting production demands and recommend methods to optimize production centers across Essilor’s lab network.  
•    Develop, update and communicate weekly, monthly and quarterly forecast models for capacity and demand.  
•    Monitor real time production data and coordinate with internal team members to help balance production volumes across Essilor’s lab network.  
•    Supports project teams by generating practical solutions to complex business problems.
•    Continuously improves decision support systems and processes.   

You will maintain and improve planning systems that increase profitability, efficiency and the flexibility of the lab network. Work within the team to create an environment of trust where system developments and enhancements are adopted, integrated into current working practices and where systems and technologies are fully utilized. 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1.    Forecasting Analysis

•    Ability to examine large datasets from multiple sources to construct and manipulate the data to support planned analysis using R, SQL, Python and similar tools.
•    Strong business acumen and data visualization skills to convert the insights into a business story in a variety of formats (reports, excel, email, PPT, including visualization of data and findings), formulating recommendations, and effectively presenting results to various teams with Essilor.
•    Monitor production volumes, ensuring total lab utilization while adhering to strict capacity limits to deliver maximum performance.
•    Collaborate with Supply Chain and Lab Operations on changes to production levels to ensure successful planning.
•    Working with cross-functional teams to understand the business and to make appropriate recommendations on how to use forecasting analytics to help solve business needs.
•    Continue to monitor predictive model performance in production.

2.    Continuous Improvement

•    Ensure a well-maintained and robust environment that meets current and future business needs by identifying opportunities for improvement.
•    Define and capture the metrics to measure the impact and success of these improvements.

3.    Project Support

•    Identify new business questions that can add value.
•    Gather user requirements needed for new data/report evaluations to monitor production optimization and success.
•    Participate in the definition, evaluation, development, and deployment of new reports & reporting solutions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:      

1.    Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Decision Science, Statistics, Information Systems.
2.    1 year of experience in a forecasting, data analytics.
3.    Proficient in SQL.
4.    Familiar with OBIEE, Spotfire, Tableau, & Salesforce.com.
5.    Familiar with R, Python, and/or Java programming languages.
6.    Fully proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and/or Google suite.
7.    Solid data mining skills.
8.    Dedication to improving the performance of the lab network through effective information delivery.
9.    Business Intelligence experience in data collection, management, and metrics.
10.    Outstanding verbal, written, and communication skills in both business and IT environments.
11.    Knowledge of the optical industry a plus.
