Title:  Senior Edging and Mounting Engineer

The position holder will be in charge of a new technologies and processes in edging and mounting technologies for Essilor business. As an Edging and Mounting Engineer, the position holder will understand, operate and maintain Edging and Mounting Technologies. Whereas a person will be working in an international and challenging environment with teams.

 

 

Your day at Essilor

• Perform validation and industrialization of new products

- Prepare, organize and lead meetings related to validation plans and guaranty their application

- Organize the realization of validations; commit and participate in their approval

- Draft and validate test reports

 

• Design, define and industrialization of the edging and mounting technologies

- Analyze the needs of various customers

- Participate in the study and finalizing of mock-ups, algorithms and prototypes for industrialization

- Draft and validate the Functional Requirements and get customer approval

- Participate in the drafting of the needed technical specifications

- Define, draft and confirm the validation plan and the lab acceptance files

- Validation and adjustment/debugging of processes and equipment

- Guarantee reliability of edging&mounting technologies

 

• Manage Key Technical Projects

 

• Lead the on-site pilots and technology transfer to the technical support teams globally

- Participate in the selection of the site for pilot and audit the workshop of the selected site

- Organize pilot in cooperation with the site and install the technology on site

- Create and manage the Pilot Contract in cooperation with the Zone Quality

- Train local teams who will perform technical support

- Follow-up throughout the pilot phase

- Implement indicators and their reporting with regular communication

 

 

• Lead Technology Watch within the edging & mounting domain

- Attend industrial shows/conferences, visit industrial organizations (labs, etc.); develop reporting of findings to those involved with the technology watch

 

• Leading lens inspection software versioning for the part of engineering

- Understand the needs of various customers and propose improvement in lens inspection software

- Lead meeting with other zones to validate and prioritize evolutions to develop in each version

- Participate in the test of new evolutions

- Consult IT support & development team regarding the software functional 

 

Must have

  • Bachelor or Master Degree, or equivalent education, in Mechanical, Electronics/Electrotechnics, Automation, Materials Engineering or related discipline with at least 3 years of work experience in a related field
  • Work experience in development/industrialization and/or production environment as operational resource and/or project manager
  • Very Good command in English
