Continuous improvement is a key element to improve industrial performances. It is necessary to help all the sites to learn and use the lean manufacturing tools, especially diagnostics, and help to deploy the lean culture by sharing results and training people.

The Continuous Improvement junior engineer is member of the LIFE central team and reports to the VP Operational Excellence.


Your day in the Worldwide LIFE team

Your mission is to contribute to improve the industrial performances of the plants. His main tasks are:

* participate to all activities on the field (diagnostics, VSM,kaizen, QRAP) with plants CI managers & CI zone managers

* prepare and animate some training sessions with CI zone managers

* keep LIFE standards up to date and write new ones from raw material coming from the sites.

Activities on the field

LIFE diagnostics:

You are a member of the diagnostic team in order to help the leader of this team (CI zone manager or Plant's CI manager) ; he/she takes in charge some tools such as VSM, VA/NVA analysis, spaghetti diagram, capacity chart...). You prepare or take part to the building of the final presentation and the action plan following the diagnostic.


You lead or participate to kaizen activities in order to support the plant's CI manager or the zone CI manager. He manages the team and makes the team use the QRAP tool and deliver results.

Specific studies:

You take in charge or support any specific activity or study linked to continuous improvement when required to.

Training sessions

You prepare and leads LIFE training sessions, either for operators (LIFE Principles) or for managers (LIFE awareness). He/she can give himself/herself these trainings.




Back office support

You are in charge of keeping the LIFE standards up to date, either by writing yourself the needed parts, or asking the topic leaders to feed the LIFE House with updated standards.

You are also is in charge of different actions related to the follow-up and deployment of Best Practices: improvement of the follow-up board, help given to the plants to facilitate the release of BP,  help to make the posted BP endorsed as soon as possible, and all initiatives to facilitate the sharing of Best Practices between the sites.


Must have

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in engineering, or any related field.
  • Strong on analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing tools or KPIs (VSM, Spaghetti, VA/NVA, lead time, takt time...)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks at once.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Proficient with MS office program (especially MS Excel, MS Powerpoint etc.)
  • Excellent written and spoken in English.
  • Excellent in presentation.
