Position Summary – Purpose and Objectives of the Role

The position will manage and coordinate the ESSILOR INDIA education and Professional Service Activities of the assigned region. Will work in collaboration with internal and external customers to enable sales through a well-structured Education and Training actions. 


Main Focus and Key Areas of Responsibilities

Responsible for the following business / functional activities of India business unit:

  • Help in develop and Design training-customized for each category and segments
  • Effectively execute Training Programs; including products/Technology/Dispensing/Optometry/Vision-Eye related topics and any other relevant topics for both internal and external customers.
  • Capture the feedback from the trained customers and do the course correction for continuous improvement
  • Develop strong relationship with both Internal Team members and ECP’s and ensure continued engagement and better relation to aid more business opportunities.
  • Build strong partnerships with KOLs and Regional Optometry Associations and form a positive picture in their mind about Essilor and influence them to recommend our range of products.
  • Build strong partnership with Regional Key Accounts/ institutions to develop programs to enhance the skills in Dispensing &Product knowledge to drive growth in business.
  • Visit ECPs in Market to understand the practice well and align the EPS Actions accordingly
  • Observe/evaluate competitive products; making recommendations to drive continued growth and identification of unique opportunities in practice.
  • Work collaboratively with EPS Head and RSH regarding design and development of region specific training materials and assessment tools.
  • Check the competition action and plan the counter actions in the Training area.
  • Keep record of training and its impact and reports regularly
  • Be part of the regional/National campaign in Eyecare awareness/Other major actions









Candidate Profile

Knowledge / Experience

 BU Experience

Operated as a specialist/ Optometry trainer in Eye care Industry and lead a team effectively

Experience / Track Record

  • 5-7 years of total work experience of which at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Educational/Marketing
  • Business Acumen - Know how businesses work; knowledgeable in current  practices, trends, and information; knows the competition;.
  • Customer Focus - Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in Training and Educational area; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

Industries Experience

One or more of the following:

  • Corporate sector: Spectacle Lenses, CL or Optical Instruments
  • Optometry Institutes-Senior Lectures
  • Retail

Geographical Experience

Must have regional market experience

Able to travel within the region.

Management Experience

More than 3 years in building a credibility in the Education and Professional Service domain, experienced to manage a team in the field.


Education / Qualification / Certification

Bachelor’s Degree & Post Graduate in Optometry.



Proficiency in English, Hindi or any other local language. Multilingual will be an advantage.

  • Strong ability to influence, drive change amongst ambiguity

  • Demonstrated professionalism and the ability to interact with all concerned
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office.
