Title:  GLE Asia SEMA Product Development Engineer

Position: GLE Asia SEMA Product Development Engineer
Location: Amata, Chonburi

 

Mission - Purpose of the job:

As part of GE ASIA SEMA, Product Development Engineer has to ensure New Product Industrialization, ensure product data quality and distribution to meet business and market needs.

Context and Main Challenges:

  • Perform New Product industrialization by implementing Surfacing Methodology and Technology
  • Ensure Product Data Quality and Product distribution management
  • Participate the on-site pilot and transfer the knowledge to Zone Technical Support
  • Involve in evolution of the methodology on product industrialization and department continuous improvement
  • Perform validation test for Partners new optical products’ functions before implementing in Asia Export labs

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

Perform New Product industrialization by implementing Surfacing Methodology and Technology

  • Collect all information of product definition and create product with Database
  • Perform Product validation for both Data and Calculation checking
  • Physical lens test according to sample plan methodology if required
  • Analyse testing result and adjust if necessary
  • Build and ensure availability of product Industrial file and Product implementation
  • Communicate development result and product update to Engineering and project team

Ensure Product data Quality and Product distribution management

  • Ensure quality of Product data before deliver to the customer
  • Put in place indicator, defind root-cause, action and follow up regularly
  • Manage Products exporting and broadcasting to meet with customer plan and requirement.
  • Handle Product data maintenance and referencing in GE Reference database

Participate the on-site pilot and transfer the knowledge to ZTS

  • Manage Product package to support New Product Implementation in Rx Lab
  • Follow up and support during New Product Pilot
  • Transfer knowledge in term of New product and product update to support team

Involve in evolution of the methodology on product industrialization and department continuous improvement

  • Minimize the lead time of product industrialization
  • Anticipate the changes and propose evolution of Product Industrialization process and methodology
  • Provide requirement and feedback to Engineering Team for enhancement of Data Admin Tool and Product Database.

Perform validation test for new optical products functions of Partners before implementing in Asia Export labs

  • Communicate with the partners technical teams to understand the product function and the needs
  • Drive development test with Global Engineering team and analyse testing result

 

Skills / Competences / Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline, such as Engineering, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in industrial engineer, development engineer in manufacturing business

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skill

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Good command of English

 

Desirable/Preferable: 

  • Experience in project management
  • Database management (SQL queiries) and data communication in information system (IS)
