The Research & Development Department continues to increase its capabilities to accelerate in the development of technologies that will help our Group to secure its leading position in a digital world. Digital is at the heart of consumer awareness and interaction and plays a key role in delivering our Mission and growth objectives. R&D will be increasingly connected to the Essilor Digital Acceleration global initiative whose ambition is to implement strategies - through the development of digital solutions - that will help to guide and retain each consumer through his journey within our retail eco-system.

The Digital Solutions department develops digital user-centric technologies to answer each client unique challenges and needs. It also develop innovative software to design and simulate lenses.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team gathering scientists in different fields, your responsibilities will be to

  • identify, propose and develop either mathematical algorithms, statistical  methods, or computer vision software related to the axis of development proposed by the department, for mobile and web technologies
  • develop proof of concepts aiming at being integrated into industrial software solutions
  • define and execute test plans to validate the proposed methods and algorithms
  • write technical specifications for the industrialization of the developed bricks
  • identify & challenge potential partners

 

Candidate Profile:

Education: Thesis, Engineering Schools or Master with specialization in applied mathematics.

Experience : first  successful experience of software development

Skills:

A strong background in applied mathematics and numerical optimization is mandatory.

Demonstrated experience and skills in software development using C++ and ability to meaningfully contribute to industrial software development projects (specifications, development, validation, documentation,…)

Natural curiosity, proactivity and autonomy is mandatory, Team player

English fluency is required.

 

Background summary:

  • Must have:
    • Applied Mathematics / Computer Vision
    • Good level in C++ programming. An experience in other programming languages  (Python, Matlab, Scilab) is a plus
  • Nice to have:
    • Computer vision / image analytics
    • Machine Learning and deep learning

This job is to be filled as soon as possible. It will be based in Créteil.
